Eroetxea

Argi bat dago

piztuta gau osoan

eroetxean,

malko formako

bonbilla bat

estalkirik gabe,

aretoko sabai zuri hiletik

zintzilik,

eroetxean giltzapetuen oheetako itzal

buruberoak ehizatzeko; halaz,

begiak zabalik egoten dira

etzanda, eta hala ere beldurrik

gabe; zakar argitzen du,

inoiz sartzen ez den eguzki;

baina are zakarrago argitzen dute

haien garezurretako lanparek,

asteroko bromuroak edo deskarga elektrikoak

ezin itzal ditzakeen argi horiek.

Linterna insomne

eskerga eta bero horiek,

zeinen azpian espektro grisak

ari baitira dantzan

beren buruetako dantzaleku sepulkraletan.

Ez, ez errukitu haietaz,

behar besteko ausardia izan baitzuten

ihes egiteko eta errutina zentzudunaren

uniforme latzak

eranzteko, jaramon egin gabe

turutei, sirenen auhenei eta

roboten zaunka gogorrari:

bat, bi hiru; bat, bi, hiru; bat, bi…

The Lunatic Asylum

No, / Do not pity them, they / Were brave enough to escape, to / Step out of the / Brute regimentals of / Sane routine, ignoring the bugles, the wail / Of sirens and / The robots’ stern bark / Hup, two, three, hup two three, hup two...
